Q: I spray most of my water based topcoats with great results. However when I do need to use a brush it is a disaster. I have used many methods, and used ones in your book but I keep getting brush marks on the final product. What am I doing wrong?
A: I could not say without watching you, but I will tell you that the two most common problems with waterbased application are applying too much and using the wrong applicator. Apply the finish very thin; just enough to wet the surface, and no more. As for applicators, for flats, I prefer paint pads, such as the ones in the photo below.
